Experience:
Morgan heads up the Wills and Estates team, and has significant expertise in Wills,
Contested Estates, Contentious Probate and Administration matters using both Court
based and alternative dispute resolution to settle such matters. His Will drafting
capabilities, developed over many years, are informed by extensive experience of
the disputes that can arise over Wills.
Morgan has run numerous commercial litigation matters in the Magistrates Court,
District Court, Supreme and Federal Courts such as building and construction disputes
and challenges to superannuation funds.
Morgan has a very broad range of commercial, business and litigation law experience.
This includes: the acquisition and sale of large businesses; commercial leasing;
establishing and drafting Discretionary and Unit trusts; asset structuring; planning
and advice for business succession; specialist contract drafting and intellectual
property matters.
Morgan's family is well known in the legal profession and he is a third generation
Perth lawyer. Morgan has a particular interest in the arts having completed his
honours thesis in Fine Art at UWA in 1994. He is a member of the WA Chamber of Culture
and the Arts, sits on the board of several arts and charity organizations and provides
pro-bono legal services regularly to the arts community.
Morgan was admitted to practice in 2000, commencing work at a national firm. Realizing
the limitations and inefficiencies of working for a national firm, he joined BBV
in 2001, became an associate of the firm in 2003 and a partner in 2007.
