Experience:
Eddie works in the Commercial Law team and has broad experience in non contentious
property and general commercial law matters. He has advised clients on conveying
farming land ownership with complex succession and trust arrangements; property
developments including drafting easements, restrictive covenants and notifications
on titles prior to arranging issuing of Certificates of Title; extensive commercial
and rural property leasing; adverse possession; conveyancing and has acted for mortgagees
in possession in exercising the power of sale under the mortgage. Eddie has also
advised clients prior to submitting tenders to public authorities and departments,
including CHOGM 2011 and has reviewed and drafted general terms and conditions of
trade, shareholder and co-owner agreements.
Eddie is experienced in drafting general commercial arrangements and documents facilitating
the commercialisation of intellectual property including copyright licences,; public/private
R&D agreements; assignment of trademarks; agreements for the manufacture of patented
technology and trade secrets. He has advised clients on matters relating to the
development or creation of intellectual property by employees.
Eddie commenced his legal career at a boutique property and commercial law firm
which had a particular emphasis on rural and commercial property law and he gained
extensive experience in a broad range of matters. Prior to entering the law Eddie
managed the commercialisation of intellectual property in the public sector which
assisted him to develop his legal skills in drafting commercialisation documents
at a specialist intellectual property law firm.
In his spare time Eddie enjoys playing masters hockey.
